Papal Audience & Vatican Museums Tour

After meeting at Via della Conciliazione at 7:20 am, we'll head to St. Peter's Square, the central hub of the Vatican.

As we walk towards the Vatican City, the guide will keep you informed and entertained with interesting facts about the history, architecture and the different popes of the Holy See. We'll then arrive at our seat in St. Peter's Square a little before 9 am to follow Pope Francis' traditional Wednesday homily. This moving and evocative event will allow us to follow the pontiff's sermons and advice at close quarters for around two and a half hours.

Once the mass has finished, we'll meet on Via Giulio Cesare to begin a guided tour of the Vatican Museums. On this tour, lasting around three and a half hours, you'll be able to explore some of the treasures in the History of Art. You'll admire unforgettable pieces such as Laocoön and His Sons and Raphael's Gallery of the Tapestries.

This visit to the Vatican Museums also includes access to the Sistine Chapel. We'll visit this room, in which popes are selected, and marvel at its world-famous paintings, including Michelangelo's The Final Judgement. In addition to this extraordinary work of art, you'll observe other details worth knowing about this famous chapel.

Once our tour of the Vatican Museums has finished, you'll have the opportunity to continue exploring on your own.

Please note

  • The Papal Audience only takes place on Wednesdays. If you'd prefer to visit the Vatican City on another day, we recommend our Guided Vatican Museums Tour.
  • This combined tour includes reserved tickets: you'll have priority entrance to the monuments and skip the ticket office line.
  • This activity is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs.
  • Access to St. Peter's Basilica from the Sistine Chapel is normally open, although it cannot be guaranteed that you will be able to enter the temple from here due to masses and religious events that may take place. In any case, if you wish to visit the basilica on your own after the tour, you can do so from St. Peter's Square.
  • Tickets to the Pope's public audience are free of charge. The price of the service is for the guided tour, assistance, booking management and, if you book it, transportation.
