Enjoy this unique experience of the Holy See with this combination tour which includes entrance to an audience with Pope Francis and a guided tour of the Vatican Museums.
Papal Audience and Vatican Museums Tour
After meeting at Via della Conciliazione at 7:20 am, we'll head to St. Peter's Square, the central hub of the Vatican.
As we walk towards the Vatican City, the guide will keep you informed and entertained with interesting facts about the history, architecture and the different popes of the Holy See. We'll then arrive at our seat in St. Peter's Square a little before 9 am to follow Pope Francis' traditional Wednesday homily. This moving and evocative event will allow us to follow the pontiff's sermons and advice at close quarters for around 2 hours 30 minutes.
Once the mass has finished at around 11:30 am, we'll rejoin our guide, who'll help us learn everything we need to know about the Vatican. After some free time spent exploring the Vatican, we'll reconvene with the guide at 1:30 pm.
We'll then begin a guided tour of the Vatican Museums. On this tour, lasting around 3 hours 30 minutes, you'll be able to explore some of the treaures in the History of Art. You'll admire unforgettable pieces such as Laocoön and His Sons and Raphael's masterpiece, The School of Athens.
This visit to the Vatican Museums also includes access to the Sistine Chapel. We'll visit this room, in which popes are selected, and marvel at its world-famous paintings, including Michelangelo's "The Final Judgement". In addition to this extraordinary work of art, you'll observe other details worth knowing about this famous chapel.
Once our tour of the Vatican Museums has finished, we'll return to St. Peter's Square.
To guarantee safety regarding Covid-19, access to St. Peter's Basilica from the Sistine Chapel will be temporarily closed, therefore we won't visit the Basilica during the tour. Entrance, however, is free, and you can access it from St. Peter's Square before or after the tour.
