I went on the first day of my visit to Rome with my 11-year-old son so he could get a quick and comprehensive overview of the city's history, and it was a success. A few days later, we visited the Forum and the Palatine Hill, and he constantly referred to the projection we saw and the virtual reconstructions. It's not a very fun activity because it's essentially history, but it's very useful for making the rest of the visits meaningful for those who haven't yet studied history or art.
