Inaugurated in 1911, Rome's Bioparco offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy wildlife in the heart of the Eternal City.
Based on a very different concept from that of a conventional zoo, this space is committed to the recovery of endangered species, environmental education and scientific research on these animals.
Throughout your visit to the Bioparco of Rome you'll be able to get to know and understand a truly unique natural complex. This zoo is home to 1200 animals belonging to a total of 200 different species, including mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians from all over the world!
But that's not all... The Bioparco also has a rich botanical collection. At first it was mainly composed of Mediterranean species and, little by little, it has been added to with hundreds of exotic plants. There's so much waiting to be explored!
Opening times
The opening hours of the Rome Bioparco are as follows:
- From 3rd October to 25th March: Every day from 9:30 am to 5 pm.
- From 26th March to 2nd October: Monday to Friday, from 9:30 am to 6 pm. Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, from 9:30 am to 7 pm.
