Florence & Pisa Day Trip
Discover two incredible jewels in the Italian region of Tuscany on our Florence & Pisa Day Trip from Rome. We'll see the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio and take pictures with the famous Leaning Tower of Pisa.
Florence & Pisa Day Trip
At 7 am, we'll meet at the Roma Tiburtina railway station and set off for the beautiful Italian region of Tuscany.
Our first stop will be in Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. This city is bursting with art and history, which we'll soak up during a sightseeing tour of the façades of its main monuments when we arrive. We'll see the Florence Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore and its beautiful dome, the Piazza de la Repubblica and the Palazzo Strozzi.
Next, we'll cross the Ponte Vecchio and admire the impressive silhouette it casts over the Arno River. You'll then have some free time to eat lunch at your leisure. We recommend trying panino with lampredotto, which is a typical Florentine sandwich.
Having reconvened, we'll hop back on the bus and drive to Pisa. When we get there we'll visit the Piazza dei Miracoli, which is a World Heritage Site and the place where the Leaning Tower of Pisa is located. This iconic construction is a cornerstone of Tuscan Romanesque architecture. Until 1990, when work to stabilise the tower was carried out, it leaned 1 millimetre more and more every year.
We'll learn all about this and lots of other fun historic facts relating to this bell tower, which has become one of the most famous towers in the world. After taking the obligatory photo of ourselves holding up the Leaning Tower of Pisa, you'll have some free time to explore the square and take a closer look at the Baptistery of St. John and the sculpture of the Fallen Angel by Igor Mitoraj.
After an incredible day, we'll take our bus back to Rome and drop you off at the starting point at 8 pm.
